OPTION 5 — ENROLL IN MEDICARE PART A, PART B AND PART C

Enroll in Medicare Part A, Part B and Part C, commonly referred to as a Medicare Advantage Plan.  These Part C Advantage plans are an inexpensive combination of prescription coverage and high deductible major medical coverage that caps your out of pocket expenses (your share where Medicare leaves off) through private insurance carriers that have a contract with the Federal government.  These plans eliminate the need to have a separate prescription plan as it is built in.  Premiums range from $0 to $200, based on several factors.  Higher deductibles can be expected from the lower end of the premium range.  These plans are subject to change, but are guaranteed issue with no health questions asked.

You’re covered right?!  Not so fast.  The annual out of pocket costs are capped at an average of $7,000 depending on the Part C Advantage plan, and. You can only use network doctors.  These plans do not travel well outside of your region and specialty treatment centers such as cataract institutes, Mayo Clinic, specialty cancer centers, etc., do not accept these Medicare Advantage plans.
